Ahrend Goes Circular for CDW

Ahrend UK enjoyed a highly successful Clerkenwell Design Week 2026, using the festival as a platform to showcase its circular economy expertise, engage with the design community, and launch meaningful conversations around the future of sustainable workplaces.

The showcase brought Ahrend’s circular vision to life, featuring products from its revived furniture collection alongside services including Furniture as a Service, Circular Consult and Buy Back programmes. Visitors had the opportunity to explore practical examples of how organisations can transition towards more sustainable workplace strategies without compromising on design, quality or performance.

Sustainability emerged as one of the defining themes of Clerkenwell Design Week 2026, with circular design, reuse and material innovation featuring prominently across exhibitions, installations and talks throughout the festival. Industry discussions increasingly focused on how businesses can move beyond traditional linear models and embrace more responsible approaches to product design and resource management.

Against this backdrop, Ahrend’s Circular Hub showcase resonated strongly with visitors seeking practical solutions to reduce waste and support their environmental goals. The concept demonstrated how workplace furniture can be kept in circulation for longer through refurbishment, redistribution and remanufacturing, helping organisations reduce both costs and carbon emissions.

A key highlight of Ahrend’s Clerkenwell Design Week programme was an engaging panel discussion that brought together industry experts to explore the role of circularity in shaping the future of workplace design.

The session examined the growing importance of designing for longevity, the challenges of implementing circular principles at scale, and the opportunities available to manufacturers, designers and clients to work more collaboratively towards sustainable outcomes.

The discussion generated valuable conversations among attendees, reflecting the wider industry shift towards measurable environmental impact, responsible specification and whole-life thinking when designing commercial interiors.

The positive response at Clerkenwell Design Week follows the recent launch of Ahrend’s UK Circular Hub, developed in partnership with Renovo Services. The new facility represents a significant step forward in expanding circular workplace solutions across the UK, offering refurbishment, reuse, remanufacturing and recycling services to organisations nationwide.

By bringing the Circular Hub concept directly to the heart of Clerkenwell, Ahrend was able to demonstrate how circular principles can be translated into practical, scalable solutions for businesses looking to reduce waste and maximise the value of their existing furniture assets.
